Welcome!

My name is Sherri Jane. I love horses, camping, cupcakes, Pandora, architecture, 3D movies, nail art, and finding beauty in everyday things. I grew up in a NW Suburb of Chicago, went to school at Northern Illinois University. 4+ years ago, I came to LA to pursue my dream and I now live in Santa Monica with my husband Mat!

My passion is photography, and always has been ever since I can remember. I started my career as a children's portrait photographer when I was 17, and eventually transitioned into event photography, architectural photography, and high end retouching. I discovered wedding photography 5+ years ago, and was instantly hooked!

I would describe my style as a blend of portrait-journalism. Sometimes I direct and stylize my shots, and other times I'm like a fly on a wall and just blend in to capture moments as they naturally occur. Whatever method I'm using, my focus is always promoting a fun and relaxed atmosphere! I love photographing weddings because of the stories, celebration, and joy that surrounds such a beautiful occasion. Being a wedding photographer is such a great honor, and I'm so grateful to have a dream job where I can give a gift of art and memories!

Random stuff about me:
• My travel goals: Australia, Socotra Island in Africa, Machu Picchu, and Bora Bora (again!)
• Taking a year of horseback riding classes was one of my favorite things about college. Another was teaching English in China for a summer.
• Pandora makes my world go round. Currently I'm listing to a mix of Lana Del Rey, Grouplove, The Xx, Ratatat, Angus and Julia Stone, Ok Go, AWOLNATION
• My inspiration comes from music, sunsets over the ocean, and Pinterest.
• I don't read a ton of books, but love everything Dan Brown!
• I watch a ton of Food Network and HGTV. I'm so ready to renovate a "fixer-upper" and become a domestic goddess! ;)
